The Prime Minister of Republic of Ireland has just announced that Senior Citizens travelling to Ireland from India will now travel Free on Irish Rail ( Iarnród Éireann).
This scheme is ready to go by St. Patrick’s Day, i.e 17th March 2010. It will apply to those over the age of 66. The offer is valid up to 31st December 2010.
The scheme will operate only in the Republic of Ireland as of now and may be extended to Northern Ireland shortly.
Now Senior Citizens can sit back, relax and enjoy the views as they travel around Ireland by train. So for those who are 66 years or over, they can now enjoy unlimited travel in the Republic of Ireland by train FREE of charge, using the Golden Trekker Pass.(GNN)
