"The Hurt Locker" Sweeps the Oscar Night

New Delhi, 8th March, 2010: The 82 nd Academy Awards saw “The Hurt Locker” stealing all the thunder from much talked “Avatar” while sweeping six Oscars including Sound Mixing, Film Editing, Original Screenplay, Direction and Motion Picture.
The list goes like this:
Best Picture: “ The Hurt Locker
Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow wins the best director Oscar for "The Hurt Locker". Kathryn Bigelow has become the first woman ever to be named best director.

Best Actress: Sandra Bullock for “The Blind Side”.

Best Actor: Jeff Bridges for"Crazy Heart" .
Best Foreign Language Film: “The Secret in their eyes” (Argentinean film) bags Oscar for the best foreign language film.

Best Film Editing:  'The Hurt Locker”.

Best Documentary Feature: “The Cove”,  about the systematic slaughter of dolphins in Japan.

Best Visual Effects: “Avatar”

Best Original Score: Michael Giacchino for “‘Up”.

Best Cinematography: Mauro Fiore for “Avatar”

Best Sound Mixing: Ray Beckett and Ottosson for “The Hurt Locker”

Best Sound Editing: 'The Hurt Locker”

Best Costume Design:  Sandy Powell for “The Young Victoria”. This is her third Oscar earlier ones are 'Aviator' and 'Shakespeare in Love'.

Best Art Direction: “Avatar”.

Best Supporting actress: Mo’Nique for ‘Precious”.

Best Adapted Screenplay: “Precious”  
Best Makeup: And Oscar goes to “Star Trek”

Best Short Film: Joachim Back and Tivi for 'The New Tenants' (Live Action)

Best short Documentry Film: 'Music by Prudence'.

Best Animated Short Film:  “Logorama”
Best Original Screenplay: Mark Boal for 'The Hurt Locker”.
Best Original Song: Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett for 'The Weary Kind' (Theme from Crazy Heart).

Best Animated Film: Pete Doctor for 'Up'

Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz for 'Inglourious Basterds'
